Turn Your Goals into Action

At Liberation Counselling, I support People of Colour to navigate the ups and downs of work, life, and relationships.

I have a passion for exploring racial identity.

My approach is Person-Centred, Solution-Focused, gentle, validating and empathetic.

We will focus on what is happening for you in the present and the future, and explore how the past is impacting you now.

Together, we can find a way forward.

How Counselling Works

The counselling session is your time and space for self-exploration, with the support of a counsellor you can trust.

Your Role

  • Your role is to explore your inner world.

  • You are empowered to lead the conversation, you know what is most important to you.

  • We will work together to identify your problems and goals.

  • In our sessions you will be invited to share your experiences, current problems, desires, fears, barriers, habits, actions, and emotions (whatever you are comfortable with).

  • Together we will explore and develop strategies to support you, as well as allow for natural healing and growth to take place.

My Role

  • My role as a counsellor, is to support you along your personal pathway to liberation, and offer my presence, knowledge and insight.

  • It is my responsibility to hold space and create emotional safety in our sessions together by being empathetic, genuine, and non-judgemental - so that you can feel safe and comfortable to explore your inner world without fear of judgement or rejection.

  • I will accept, respect, and care about you, and understand that you are doing the best you can.

  • I will empower you to direct the conversation.

  • I will actively listen to you and reflect back what I hear to increase our understanding.

  • I will ask open questions to further your exploration.

  • I will offer observations to help you find answers, or to identify patterns of behaviour.

  • I will offer possible strategies to support you, which we will collaboratively develop to suit you.
